Burson-Marsteller, in partnership with the Black Public Relations Society of Washington, DC, presented a panel discussion to more than 45 BPRS members and others on Jan 28.  Burson provided light refreshments and wine for the evening event, which provided a great environment for networking and the panel discussion that followed.

Burson is an official agency partner for BPRS-DC in 2010 and this event served as a perfect kick off for the partnership. Dedra Owens, president of BPRS-DC said, “We are excited to have a true partnership with Burson-Marsteller and impressed with their demonstrated commitment to diversity in the field of PR.”

The panel discussion was titled, Why “Evidence Based Communications” has become so important in the world of Public Relations? Josh Gottheimer, EVP of Burson-Marsteller Worldwide, presented the concept of "Evidence-Based Communications" - Burson-Marsteller's approach to communications, driven by data at the beginning, middle and end.  "Evidence-Based Communications" is a differentiator that helps PR firms distinguish themselves and improve their reputation in a crowded market.  It helps develop more informed programs, as well as illustrate ROI at the end of communications campaigns.

The panel consisted of five Burson executives:

·         Josh Gottheimer – EVP, Burson-Marsteller Worldwide

·         Chris Foster, US Practice Chair, Healthcare

·         Tracy Clayton, Manager, Public Affairs

·         Patricia Pincus, Manager, Media

·         Misty Williams, Associate, Public Affairs
