- Tracy Schario Johnson, former president of the National Capital Chapter of PRSA, will return to the classroom this spring to teach a new course on "Engaging the Media" at Georgetown University in its Continuing Studies program. The course is designed to provide a detailed understanding of how to develop, implement and evaluate a media relations plan; build relationships with reporters and bloggers; manage both proactive and reactive media situations; and examine how the media operate. There will be an emphasis on the ethical practices of journalists and public relations practitioners. Guest speakers will be invited to help illustrate best practices. Schario Johnson also will serve as a facilitator for an online course on new media through the Strategic Public Relations masters program at The George Washington University.
