YellowBrix, an Alexandria-based provider of targeted industry news and business information services, acquired New York-based Screaming Media, which provides syndicated news to Internet and wireless services, from owner Dow Jones & Company, reports Potomac Tech Wire.

According to PTW, the acquisition, the third for YellowBrix in eight years, includes product lines, customers and content services under the Screaming Media brand. "The acquisition further extends YellowBrix's reach into the corporate community," said CEO Jeff Massa. Dow Jones unit MarketWatch paid $103 million when it acquired Screaming Media in 2003.
