Ad 2 DC celebrated the end of Advertising Week DC 2009 by hosting their third happy hour of the year. The Ad 2 leadership committee used this opportunity to announce the winner of their August 2009 logo contest—Erik Dreyer of August, Lang and Husak in Bethesda, MD.
The Ad 2 DC logo competition launched on July 30, 2009, allowing the club to involve the young design community in its branding process. Twenty-three entries were displayed and voted upon by attendees of Ad 2 DC’s last happy hour event. “Erik’s design is not only aesthetically pleasing, but the reference to the Washington Monument links us directly to downtown DC,” says Ad 2 DC President Kate Asaturyan-Lysaught. “It also provides a visual correlation to our parent organization—The DC Ad Club—which uses a similar image in their identity.”
Ad 2 DC is a local chapter of a national organization that helps young advertising professionals network, socialize, and gain exposure within the DC Advertising and Marketing community. The organization consists of young, up-and-coming members of the larger Ad Club of Metropolitan Washington. For more information, go to ad2dc.blogspot.com <http://ad2dc.blogspot.com/> .
