Volkswagen of America, Inc, is reviewing its ad agency options, reports the Washington Business Journal.
The WBJ report quoted Tim Ellis, VP of marketing at Herndon-based Volkswagen of America, as stating, “Our goal of rapidly increasing our volume in a mature market requires the Volkswagen brand to evolve into a more relevant mainstream choice.” The WBJ story reported that Volkswagen has a goal of 800,000 sales by 2018 and will bring several new models to market over the next few years. The auto company has not picked a list of agencies that will be considered and has tapped Roth Associates to begin the review process. Crispin Porter + Bogusky, the current agency, has been invited to repitch the account.
