THE DOG SHOW and other artwork by Raleigh Schein, past president of the Ad Club of Metropolitan Washington, that's set for Annapolis, brings to light the many faces of dogs – every child’s playmate, man’s best friend, a member of the family, and our search and rescuers in emergencies. The show features ten dog portraits along with other portraits, landscapes, cityscapes and music-inspired abstracts.
Two new paintings honoring the heroic efforts of two 9/11 search and rescue dogs will be shown. Raleigh will send images of these paintings to the Artists Registery for The National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City.
“I’m compelled by the dedicated and mission-focused spirit that I sense in search and rescue dogs. I see the incredible heroism and the loyalty of these dogs to the firemen and policemen with whom they work. I was moved to express those aspects, along with my own gratitude for their unflinching generosity to save lives on that tragic day. I am honored to be able to recognize their special qualities through my work and to share that with others,” said Raleigh.
The show opens on Friday, September 11th with a reception from 5 pm to 8 pm. Open to the public at West Annapolis Art Works, 4 Annapolis Street, Annapolis, MD, the show runs until October 5th.
