The National Association of Broadcasters enlisted the creative talent at Brunner to develop an animated advertisement opposing a "performance tax" on local radio, one of their top legislative initiatives. Broadcasters are aggressively opposing a congressionally-mandated fee on local radio stations being pushed by the record labels.

The bill, H.R. 848, would upend the mutually beneficial system of free airplay for free promotion that has worked for radio and record labels for more than 70 years. Broadcasters view this as a money grab by record labels that have seen sinking profits in recent years - in large part because they have failed to adapt to the digital age.

The spots are running on targeted stations in the D.C. market during the month of July and have also been made available to radio stations throughout the nation for use in their communities or on their Web sites.
