Robin Pence has been named VP/corporate communications for Gannett, publisher of USA Today and 83 other newspapers. Pence, who most recently led international communications for power company AES, replaces Tara Connell, who earlier this year was named vice president of Gannett's new ContentOne news gathering initiative.

He has also held positions at APCO Worldwide and served as vice president of marketing and promotions with Edelman Worldwide.
