Fleishman-Hillard promoted Martha Boudreau and Bill Pendergast. Boudreau, who was general manager of the D.C. office, has been named president of Fleishman-Hillard’s Mid-Atlantic and Latin American regions. Pendergast replaces her as general manager of the second-largest office in the Fleishman-Hillard network.
Boudreau joined Fleishman-Hillard as an account executive in 1986 — one year after the firm began operations in D.C. For the past eight years, she has served as the office’s senior manager, overseeing revenue and staff growth while building Fleishman-Hillard into a major competitor in the marketplace. With her promotion, Boudreau takes on responsibility for the firm’s offices in D.C., Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, Miami, San Juan and Mexico City; as well as for Strat@comm, which has offices in D.C. and Detroit.

Pendergast joined Fleishman-Hillard in 1998. Since that time, he has managed corporate communications, reputation management and crisis communications programs for numerous Fortune 500 companies and other major clients. Prior to being named general manager, he served as deputy general manager and led the office’s corporate practice. Pendergast was previously PR director at Ameritech, and was chief communications strategist and lead spokesman for Ameritech Consumer Services, the company’s largest division. Pendergast also worked at Ketchum PR.

"With the change of administration we see that the financial capital of the world is becoming Washington, I would suggest that Washington is becoming the communications capital of the world, as well," Hatch said.
But it wasn't always that way. Hatch, a native Washingtonian, and University of Maryland graduate, bought MDB Communications in 1987, making her a rarity in the ad business as a female owner. Now the company has dozens of awards and many popular ad campaigns, including the D.C. Lottery and National Geographic, stated the WJLA-TV News report.
