Williams Whittle formed Williams Whittle Digital, a division that will focus exclusively on online marketing. WWD, staff shown in photo above, reports it has projects for four digital-only clients: Travel Dynamics International, a cruise ship line; Five Guys Burgers and Fries; IMG, an international arts management company; and, Choral Arts of Washington. Rob Whittle, president and CEO of Williams Whittle, said, “WWD is a web marketing entity as opposed to a web development unit. We have been doing online marketing for Williams Whittle clients like NVR, the USO, Georgetown University and Fairfax County Convention and Visitors Bureau for years. We perceive an urgent need for online marketing in the client niches in which we operate.” (Check out "Around Town" to see who's who in the photo.)
Ogilvy PR is working on “New York 400,” a 10-month campaign to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Holland’s settlement of New Amsterdam, reports O’Dwyer’s PR Report. The celebration commemorates the 1609 journey of Henry Hudson on the Dutch ship "Halve Maen" (Half Moon) in search of a northwest passage to Asia. Hudson sailed up what is now the Hudson River to what is now Albany before realizing it wasn’t a shortcut to Asia. While most of Ogilvy’s work will be handled by the firm’s NYC office, Rob Mathias, managing director of Ogilvy/DC is involved in the campaign.
