- Hirshorn Zuckerman Design Group, Inc. (HZDG) has launched a new Web site—www.scarletcaps.com—dedicated to the women who follow the Washington Capitals hockey team.The fun, interactive site allows female fans to sign up for Club Scarlet and receive exclusive invitations to team events, get “up close and personal” with the players, learn more about hockey and the Caps, and comment on blogs written by local celebrities and fans.
- Porter Novelli trimmed 15 percent of its D.C. staff - 12 people - in response to the economic slump, according to Marian Salzman, chief marketing officer, of the Omnicom unit. According to O'Dwyers, she said PN has been making a series of staff “adjustments” this year as part of CEO Gary Stockman’s effort to right-size the operation.
-WestGlen has partnered with TEEN KIDS NEWS to create an exclusive offering for placement of video news packages on a unique TV news program. The weekly 30- minute children's news show, TEEN KIDS NEWS (www.teenkidsnews.com) is aired on more than 200 TV stations, which reach more than 91% of U.S. households. Adding to the home TV audience of some 5.3 million viewers, the program is now delivered by PBS satellite and streamed on the Internet directly to classrooms to 8,100 schools each week. In addition, the program is seen weekly via the Armed Forces Network which is in 1,000 locations in 175 countries and all the Navy ships at sea. The TKN audience delivers a very difficult to reach audience of teens/tweens and, according to Nielsen Sigma Ratings, it also delivers millions of parent.
- RTC Relationship Marketing (RTCRM) promoted Alexandra Beneville to SVP, Group Account Director.
Beneville’s expanded responsibilities include broader strategic and management leadership for some of the agency’s largest and most successful client engagements. Her client portfolio currently includes Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS), MedImmune and Novo Nordisk.Beneville began her career at RTCRM in 2004 managing the agency’s Sanofi-Aventis account and on-boarding newly acquired client BMS.
- At ICF International, Selena A. Ramkeesoon, pictured above, has been promoted to principal, Strategic Communications. A 15-year communications veteran, Ramkeesoon will be managing health, human services, and international accounts. She has led strategic communications for such clients as the Dept. of Justice, EPA, CDC, HHS, and the State department.
And, Delia Jones, pictured above, has been promoted to associate creative director at ICF International, with a 25-person creative services team serving government and commercial clients. Jones has 20 years of experience in the DC area, with the last ten at ICF.
