The just-released quarterly Capitol Communicator/WB&A Market Research Poll was the topic of a free webinar held Oct. 4. The poll is an on-going, quarterly study sponsored by branding and marketing communications agency ZilYen, that queried consumers in the DC and Baltimore markets on their behavior across a range of online activities from exploring daily deal websites to following companies on Facebook and Twitter to scanning QR codes with smartphones for product and service information. The webinar detailed:

• Online daily deal websites;

• Smartphone usage;

• The impact of online consumer-generated reviews;

• Social media engagement with companies and brands; and

• Impact of Internet sales tax.
