- Design Army’s award-winning co-founder Pum Lefebure was featured on WJLA-TV’s Working Women feature on August 27.   You can check it out here: http://www.tbd.com/articles/2010/08/working-women-pum-lefebuere-5996.html.

- Jake McGuire, a local still photographer who has taken some classic shots of Washington landmarks, was featured in a lengthy Washington Post story in August titled “Man About Town.”  The story notes that “The way to stand out from the crowd, to succeed in WASHINGTON is to behave like Jake McGuire.  He is a master mass-marketer.  He has multiple varieties of business cards, depending on whom he’s talking to and what he thinks they might want.  One of them is in French.  He does not really speak French.  But he likes the whimsy.”

- Local PR pro Shonali Burke reports that she now is a blogger for BNET.com which, she says is apparently "the hub of CBS Interactive's Business Network."  Her first post discusses the importance of listening to, rather than shouting at, your customers online: http://ht.ly/2xjid.  She tells us that this is a "trial" run of about six weeks. If all goes well, they will keep her on as a regular weekly blogger.

-Designer Jill Tanenbaum is joining the Art Glass Center at Glen Echo as a resident artist where she will provide leadership, direction and support for the members of the Art Glass Center, support the mission of the Center as a school, a resource center, and a gallery for contemporary kiln-formed glass, and support the goals of the Center to train students to become professional glass artists. She will be responsible to stimulate public awareness about glass art, educate the public on kiln-formed glass methods and teach students to make glass art.
