Carton Donofrio Partners named Ellen Moore its chief executive officer. Moore, a ten-year veteran of the Baltimore-based integrated ad agency, most recently held the position of chief operating officer.  She succeeds Chuck Donofrio who will remain chairman of the company’s board of directors.

“This announcement reflects a succession plan we’ve had in place for several years,” said Donofrio. “Ellen is a phenomenal leader with great vision for where our industry is headed. She has the full confidence of the board to take our 46-year-old agency into the future.”

Carton Donofrio Partners was founded as Richardson, Myers & Donofrio (RM&D) in 1964 by Chuck Donofrio’s father and Baltimore advertising legend Hal Donofrio. Chuck Donofrio has led the agency as its CEO since 1993.

“I’m honored that Chuck has entrusted me to lead the company that he and his father made into the strong, forward-looking agency it is today,” said Moore. “I pledge to them – as well as to our employees, clients, and partners – that I will do all I can to build upon the tremendous foundation, galvanize our talented team, and catapult the agency into its next phase.”

Moore will report to the board of directors and shares the responsibility for leading the agency with Jamie Rice, chief strategy officer, and Dennis McKernan, chief financial officer.

Moore joined Carton Donofrio Partners in 2000 after working with the agency as its client at WL Gore & Associates, the makers of GORE-TEX® fabric. In her most recent post as chief operating officer, she was responsible for organizational development, marketing, client service and strategy, and agency profitability. Prior to being named chief operating officer in 2008, Moore served as a vice president and group account leader for Carton Donofrio Partners.
