The call letters of the new CBS Radio all-news station in DC will be WNEW-FM, states radio-info.com  According to the report, CBS Radio will take the call letters from its urban AC station in West Palm Beach, FL, and move them north to the DC market, when the CBS all-news format debuts on 99.1 early next year.

After much speculation, CBS RADIO announced today it will be launching an all-news radio station in January 2012 on 99.1 FM to reach listeners in the metropolitan area. The move to challenge top-rated WTOP-FM comes as a result of an agreement to acquire 107.9 FM from Family Stations, Inc., which will serve as the home for “El Zol,” CBS RADIO’s Spanish-language station.
