The following case study increased referrals and customer response for one client of Mac Mannes, Inc. It focuses on the effective uses of promotional products even in a down economy.
Craig Strent, vice president of Bethesda-based Apex Home Loans wanted to thank his current customers while using the opportunity to gain referrals. After years of gift baskets with mixed results, he teamed up with Mac Mannes to devise a new plan.
A custom printed house shaped gift box was created and filled with a jar opener, chip clip, wine pairing magnet and survey was sent as a closing thank you to each customer. The items were picked for their long shelf life and usefulness in the home.
The package cost under $10, much less than the gift baskets and the survey garnered a 30% response rate, 10 times greater than the previous email survey with no gift. As a result , referrals have increased and as Craig says, "mission accomplished and I just wanted to say thanks for your advice and terrific service."
