The Capital Cabal presents CMS Outlook: Case Studies in Evolving Web Content Management Platforms. The event will be held March 30 at the City Club of Washington, Columbia Square, in D.C. This seminar explores the state of the tool sets, trends, commentary and predictions for how the content management sector is evolving. The session will include real-world case studies from marketing leaders and publishers, discussing the results of evolving their web CMS into development platforms.

Topics include:
• Inter-connectivity with cloud-based applications
• Integration with existing applications
• Creation of new applications and web sites

Come learn about the procedures, protocols, tips and tricks that will enable your team to rapidly and easily deploy feature-rich and cloud interconnected web sites. Also hear real-world examples of positive returns on investment and lower total cost of ownership through the deployment of an integrated platform. Panelists and issues to be discussed include:

-Tony White, independent analyst and CEO of Ars Logica. White founded Boston-based Ars Logica to provide vendor neutral analysis of a variety of enterprise level applications. His customers include Ford Motor Company, State of California, Qantas Airways and Siemens. White's session will focus on solutions to the challenges faced by today’s online publishers and marketing organizations by showcasing the current state of CMS feature-functionality. Considerations will include:
• Marketing requirements affecting the purchase decision for or against a single CMS platform vs. multiple point solutions
• Product usability for non-technical users
• Speed of executing marketing campaigns
• Examples of technological and business-process factors influencing project success or failure

White will explore key evaluation criteria for two fundamentally different product types: First, functionally rich, complex, customizable platforms; and, second, more limited, easier-to-use, configurable applications. Attendees will leave with an understanding the pros and cons of each, as well as a strategy for communicating their specific CMS business requirements to IT.

-Mark Pilipczuk, VP, Marketing & Customer Services at Neustar, Inc. Pilipczuk will present a case study where the use of a content management system as a platform helped Neustar achieve a variety of business objectives. He'll explain how the solution was approached, what was involved technically, who was involved in development, how people/process/and technology interacted in the solution, how long it took, and the results.

-Meg Walsh, Director of eCommerce Platforms at Marriott.com. Walsh will discuss the multi-year process of moving Marriott.com to a CMS Platform, and how they plan to develop feature rich functionality and applications going forward.

This session is sure to be an informative eye-opener, as our presenters are pushing the envelope and you'll be the wiser for it.
