IABC/DC Metro's Silver Inkwell Awards gala is set for Oct. 30 at the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda. The event is described as “the communications community's Signature of Excellence event that focuses on outstanding communications programs that met demanding business objectives.”
The evening’s guest speaker is John Friedman, an award-winning communications professional and author of “The New PR”. Friedman will share how companies must evolve their communications strategies to meet stakeholders' changing expectations, and refine how we use both traditional and new media. Communication credibility requires moving from spin to transparency and action, and from issuing messages to hosting conversations. Friedman will present a message framework to accomplish this rapidly changing role.
Networking and hors d'oeuvres starts at 6:00 p.m. followed by Friedman and the awards program, and dessert and coffee.
