According to the Washington Post Company, revenue for the first six months of 2012 was $1,979.4 million, down 6% from $2,103.2 million in the first six months of 2011. Revenues were down at the education and newspaper publishing divisions, while revenues were up at the television broadcasting and cable television divisions.
The company reported operating income of $77.8 million for the first six months of 2012, compared to $138.7 million for the first six months of 2011. Operating results were down at all of the company’s divisions, except for the television broadcasting division.
