NBC's television comedy series "Parks and Recreation," was filming sequences for the series’ season opener last week in DC. Amy Poehler (Saturday Night Live), who plays Leslie Knope on the series, and Adam Scott (Party Down) were both in town for the shoot. Scott’s character, Ben Wyatt, announced he would be taking a campaign job in Washington in last season’s finale. Locations for filming included: The White House and the Old Executive Building, 12th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, The Newseum, the Capitol Reflecting Pool and the Lincoln Memorial.
Discovery Channel and Sapling Pictures teamed for a cross-promotional campaign supporting the network’s popular series, "Mythbusters", and new 20th Century Fox release, "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter". The campaign includes tune-ins, vignettes and ID spots that merge the lighthearted character of the series with the dramatic themes of the film. The work represents the company’s latest cross-promotional partnership with Discovery Channel. In 2011, Sapling Pictures produced a series of tie-in spots promoting "Mythbusters and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol". "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" is a fantasy drama that imagines the secret life of the 16th president as history’s greatest hunter of the undead.
In conjunction with Double R Productions' 25th anniversary, the firm had the premiere DC screening of “The Contradictions of Fair Hope” and attendees were treated to a discussion with the filmmakers at Hill Center in the historic Naval Hospital. Co-directors Rockell Metcalf and S. Epatha Merkerson, the Golden-Globe-winning star of "Law & Order", answered questions after the screening for a highlights reel and for the audience. Double R interns Alex Migdal, Bryan Johnson and Daniel Perez shot and edited the reel.
