D.C. is still one of the best cities to find a job because it has the most available job openings, according to an index by CareerCast.com and JobSerf that measures U.S. managerial recruitment activity, reports Washington Business JournalD.C. offered more job opportunities per capita than any metro area in the U.S. for the fifth month in a row, with an index score of 135, continued the WBJ report. the story also stated:

The index considers the volume of managerial positions posted online across the U.S., as well as data on top regions, job levels and cities.

Job availability rose to 73.7 this month, which is 3.4 points below the level of last November, but higher than the index last month (67.8).

A score above 100 means that there are more available jobs than in 2007, while one under 100 means that job seekers now have fewer opportunities.

Six of the top 10 metro areas are located in the Northeast, where job availability rose by 6.5 points this month. It is the only U.S. area to post a year-over-year improvement for the month.

Boston, San Francisco, Seattle and Atlanta rounded out the top five regions to find a job.
