- The American Advertising Federation named Ron Owens recipient of its 2008 Pioneer of Diversity Award at its Diversity Achievement Awards Program in NYC. The award is presented each year to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the success of multicultural marketing and diversity efforts within the advertising industry. A former governor of the Mid-Atlantic Council of the American Association of Advertising Agencies and past president of the DC Ad Club, he has served as the lieutenant governor of District II of the American Advertising Federation, vice chairman of Big Brothers Big Sisters of DC, Southern MD and Northern VA, and presently serves as a board director of the Better Business Bureau and the Arthritis Foundation.
- Spectrum Science Communications promoted Susie Tappouni to VP. Tappouni will continue to provide strategic counsel to clients while taking on a new role as a manager in the company’s Client Service Group.
- Mary Jo Lampe joined NJVC, an information technology solutions provider for the United States Department of Defense headquartered in Vienna, as VP/strategic marketing and communications. She previously was VP/strategic marketing and communications at Olive Group North America in D.C.
